April 2, 2013 – Today, Sleep Outfitters announced that its CEO Kim Brown Knopf will speak at the University of the Cumberlands’ “2013 Business Forum for Young Professionals,” taking place April 16 at the Hutton School of Business.
“I’m extremely honored to be asked to present at the 2013 Business Forum for Young Professionals event at University of the Cumberlands,” Knopf said. “This event for students in the Hutton School of Business is such a wonderful opportunity to share my perspective on building and growing a business, based on my experience expanding our organization in these challenging economic times.”
The theme for the 2013 Business Forum is “How to Achieve Business Growth in a Recovering Economy.” Sleep Outfitters provides a shining example of how a business can continue to grow in such an economic environment, as the company continues to experience growth across the country. The company has doubled in size since 2008.
Knopf is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and started her career as a mattress sales associate. From there, she built her business, Innovative Mattress Solutions, as one of the first female entrepreneurs to enter the male-dominated mattress specialty industry in the early 1980s. Innovative Mattress Solutions is now the parent company of 150 Sleep Outfitters, Mattress King and Mattress Warehouse stores and continues to grow as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.
